Investment manager Rasmala has named Ali Taqi as its Dubai-based head of equities, one of several new appointments at the firm.
Taqi joins from A/T Capital Management, the DIFC-based investment management firm, where he was managing director – asset management having joined the firm in 2008.
In his new role, Taqi will responsible for managing Rasmala’s regional equity portfolios and regional equity investment team. He will also have responsibility for further developing its regional equity business.
As a member of the asset management executive team, Taqi will work alongside Rasmala Egypt Asset Management managing director Ahmed Abou El-Saad and head of fixed income funds and portfolios Doug Bitcon. Taqi said: “Rasmala has grown over the years to become the leading investment management firm for investors based in the GCC region.
“I am pleased to be joining the team and look forward to working together on further development of Rasmala’s equities division.”
Prior to A/T Capital Management, Taqi was head of Mena asset management at NBK Capital between 2005 and 2008 and was a former senior equity analyst at Gulf Investment Corporation.
Rasmala has also announced two new appointments to its business development team.
Dimitris Zografos has joined as head of institutional sales, with responsibility for developing and expanding its business development activities within the regional and international institutional client segment.
Zografos was most recently head of institutional sales at Bank Muscat and previously held a business development role at London-based Neptune Investment Management.
Additionally, Faisal Siraj has joined as director – family offices and will be responsible for developing and expanding the firm’s business development activities within the GCC family office client segment.
